H.E.A.R.T. wasn’t built from research papers or a consulting method. It came from more than twenty years of change, loss and reinvention, across many cultures and industries.
Mili left Serbia alone at 24. She built a career alongside top executives in New York. She grieved her father from across an ocean while still showing up to work. And she quietly burned out at the very top of everything she had built.

Imagine a little girl, 11 years old, Serbia, 1999. When a bomb goes off down that street, you believe the whole world is about to crack wide open. Her mother wasn’t there. Her father and her brother were absent in their own ways, so she put on a stoic, serious face, and had to hold it all together on her own. That face was hiding fear, terror. That little girl was me.
And that’s when I started believing that life could be different. So I left Serbia for America, where things would be finally better, and then I joined the cruise line. Turns out the 9:00 PM dinner rush is pretty much bombs going off. Some people came happy, some came to be happy. Others came because someone else wanted to make them happy, and so many serious faces.
That ship taught me what a smile means to a hungry person, what a kindness means to an angry one, and how leading with the heart and love makes people patient. It makes them feel different.
Then came Manhattan, working with executives and bringing in new clients. Big titles, serious faces, hiding so much underneath. Composed on the outside, falling apart on the inside. War-torn Serbia, Manhattan, a cruise ship: different places, the same faces.
Maybe you know that face. Maybe you’re the one everyone leans on, and no one sees how heavy it is. Maybe you’re winning at work, and quietly losing yourself.
Here is what I know now: the future of leadership is human. Every time I led from the heart, on a battlefield, a cruise ship, or in a boardroom, the hardest things became easier. And it never stops with one person. Your team feels it, your clients feel it, your family feels it.
